The Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Science Degree from Western Governors University is a program of study that is designed for prospective middle and high school teachers that wish to focus their area of specialization within the sciences. Students will still complete general methodology courses, classes on student learning and effective teaching as well a general classroom management, child learning and development and general education courses.

In addition to the general teaching courses students will also take more advanced classes in different areas of science including biology, chemistry, physicals and earth sciences. This emphasis in the science area will focus on research based effective teaching strategies, evaluating and understanding science curriculum and specific techniques and teaching methods that are compatible with middle and high school science students.
