The Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Mathematics degree program from Western <br />Governors University provides students with the knowledge and skills <br />required to teach math effectively to students in middle through high school <br />grades.  Students that want to teach mathematics and already have a <br />bachelor's degree can do so after completing their BA in teaching <br />mathematics.  This degree program teaches learners the basic principles of <br />teaching math to children in grades five through twelve or five through nine.

Some of the courses required include Public Speaking, Teaching Techniques, <br />Communication Skills, Student Evaluation, and Test Writing.  Students <br />acquire the academic knowledge to evaluate classes and individual students, <br />create an entertaining and educational curriculum and communicate with <br />guardians and parents.  Graduates with a BA in teaching mathematics degree <br />understand how to deal with problems, control a classroom, test fairly, and <br />teach and treat all students equally.
