Walden Universities Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling degree program equips students with the academic knowledge and skills needed to treat patient's behavioral disorders in an effective manner while respecting their individual's diversities and giving ethically correct treatment.  Foundational courses in the MS in mental health counseling program complement core courses.  To achieve this degree, students must have a licensing plan, professional development plan, field experience and a thesis.  Mental health counselors acquire the knowledge necessary to help others through mental disorders and issues.  Courses in the program include treating adults and children, methods of treatment, mental disorders, and human relations.
