The self-designed course program involves 30 semester credit hours, composed of 15 core courses and 15 specialization courses. Core courses include communication; ethical and legal issues; managerial accounting; accounting standards; and financial management tools. Specialties that Walden students can choose between include topics in both accounting and management/leadership. A student has the potential to graduate with his or her masters in as little as 20 months, should they pursue the program full-time. However, since Waldens MS program is based online, non-traditional students often choose it, so they may continue working, raising a family, or doing other activities that may impinge on a full-time, campus-based degree.
