Bachelor's in Public Accounting

Rasmussen College’s bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting hopes to prepare its graduates for successful careers in public finance. Upper division accounting courses in the program, some of which are required to earn the degree, include business law, taxation of individuals, international accounting, and strategic management. Skills that Rasmussen stresses throughout the degree program are things like effective communication, ethical finance reporting, team management, and creative problem-solving. Additionally, the program is designed in some states with an additional year to prepare graduates to take the certified public accountant (CPA) exam.  In this additional year, review courses, like federal tax theory, operations management, organizational development, financial statement analysis, risk management for accountants, and contemporary leadership challenges, among others. Students have the option of earning their degree solely online or partially in one of 22 on-campus environments. Rasmussen College prides itself on creating a flexible environment so that its students can earn a degree in business without commuting or adhering to a time-strict schedule.
