Mountain State University is an independent, not-for-profit university founded in 1933 that offers both in-class and online education programs. MSU is located in downtown Beckley, West Virginia, which is only 50 miles south of the capital, Charleston. The educational focus of Mountain State University is preparing students to have successful careers in their field of choice. Courses are designed to aptly prepare students to meet both the present and future needs of their respective organizations.
MSU offers many online programs at the associate and bachelor level. Students can obtain associate degrees in accounting, business administration (with management, marketing, or human resource management specializations), and medical assisting. Bachelors degrees that students can obtain include accounting, and business administration (with specializations in finance, hospitality, management, or marketing). Courses are generally completed in sequences of two every eight weeks in a 16-week semester.
The requirements for admission are relatively simple. Students must have a high school diploma or a GED certificate. Student computers must also meet the specifications required for online enrollment. Some programs may have additional requirements, so prospective students are encouraged to consult the undergraduate catalog. For more information on Mountain State University, see the MSU website.
