The Master of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program aims to give educators the detailed knowledge and skills required to teach persons who have a native language other than English. The program focuses on teaching educators many details about the English language which include syntax, grammar, conjugation, word definitions, sentence structures, and translation. This knowledge is tremendously helpful when working with students who have very little, or sometimes no, experience with the English language. Additionally, the program aims to teach educators how to recognize differences in foreign language grammar and sentence structure so that they can better explain English. Graduates are well prepared to educate students who are challenged because of a limited knowledge of English.
