The bachelors of science degree in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) from Grand Canyon University is designed for students who want to gain the necessary skills to manage healthcare businesses. The program focuses on both planning and decision-making processes that compose an integral part of any healthcare administration. Some of the courses necessary for completion of the degree include health care systems and transcultural health care; health policy and economic analysis; health care accounting and billing; legal and ethical principles in health care; quality in health care; and strategic planning implementation in health care, among others. The program also has general education requirements in fields like communication and critical thinking. Additionally, Grand Canyon University is a religiously affiliated school, so each student must take a course in Christian worldview. The program hopes to prepare its students for entry-level positions in administration and eventually, with time and proven talent, managerial health positions. The Universitys program is offered completely online, and some students may qualify for financial aid from the U.S. government.
