The Doctor of Philosophy in Organization and Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management program is structured to help students gain the expertise needed to lead, consult or teach from a truly informed, strategic viewpoint. The human resource management specialization will aptly prepare students to be leaders in the increasingly complex, global business environment. Students in this program learn how to both conduct and apply research to a variety of business topics (with a focus on human resource management issues). At the same time, students are encouraged to think independently and solve business problems in unique and innovative ways. Capella's curriculum in this program is designed to meet with the competencies identified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) in their piece, "The Competency Model for the New HR."
