Veterinary science is the study of medicine for animals and how we can help animals in need. Veterinarians typically help animals such as cats, dogs, birds, and other domestic pets. Many vets (as they are called for short) also help out with horses that need medical assistance. This is a separate branch of veterinary science called equine veterinary medicine. There are also other branches that study the medical treatment of wild animals. Today, animals are receiving some of the most modern treatments to date.
