The field of nursing is the most diverse of all the health care professions, because the term is so broad. There are many different kinds of nurses, and what type you will be depends on your chosen field of study. Nursing courses teach students how to administer health care, talk to patients, and be sensitive to their needs. Hands on learning is also required so that students are familiar with the proper clinical procedures (such as administering vaccines, listening for heart beats, taking temperatures, etc). A crash course in the nursing licensing process will also most likely be covered, so that students are prepared when it is time to take the nursing license exam.
