What is the Student Search Service?

Universities and colleges around the nation are using a tool known as the Student Search Service. The tool, created by The College Board, allows students to receive brochures and other information from colleges they may be interested in.

Contributing Factors

Factors like age, ethnicity, location, work/volunteer experience, standardized test scores, GPA, and extracurricular activities influence the types of colleges that send you information. Colleges will also target students who express interest in a particular degree program.

Benefits of Student Search

The Student Search Service does not only benefit colleges, but it is also a great way for potential college students to request more information about a particular school or program. Students can receive informationabout financial aid programs, scholarships, and extracurricular programs as well. Knowledge is power - so why not get the most infomation you can about colleges and possible degrees?

The Student Search Service will not allow universities to view your credentials, but they can search for students within a certain range of qualifications. The Student Search Service is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, it is a great way for colleges to target specific groups of high school students, and also allows students to request information from a variety of colleges they are interested in attending.
